MORTON WI - The evening of June 4 proved to be a most enjoyable open evening when members were joined by husbands, partners, and friends to hear Marion Carette talk about Katherine and her Prince. Not our present Katherine and William but Katherine Swinford and John ‘O’ Gaunt, a real love story! Marion told how they met and fell in love, and how after many years of trials and tribulations were eventually married. Every King or Queen of England since then, descends from that beautiful lady and her Prince. Four lady visitors and three gentlemen were made most welcome. The prize for a scented candle was won by Chris Austin , 2 Joyce Lewis ,3 Pat Simmons. Joyce also won the raffle prize. The next meeting takes place on July 2 at 7.30 pm in the village hall ,and once again is an open meeting. Pamela Driscoll will be talking about and demonstrating various forms of Floral Art .The competition for the evening will be for a single flower bloom .Why not joe along and join the group, they will be very pleased to see you.

CHURCH LADIES’ FELLOWSHIP - On Thursday last week 22 members of the Church Ladies’ Fellowship and one brave gentleman guest met in the Church Community Hall. Chairman Pat Abel gave out announcements, reminding members of the forthcoming Rose and Sweet Pea Show. Bric-a-brac was required and contents for a hamper which the Ladies’ Fellowship give as a prize in the main draw. Mrs Abel introduced the speakers, Bob and Sue Titman who gave an extensive insight into their bird watching trip to Brazil, Argentina and Chile. Sue showed her expertise as a retired geography teacher, explaining the terrain, glaciers, and forests and Bob elaborated on the bird species with some amazing pictures. A birthday posie was presented to Nancy Titman for her 95th birthday. The evening’s raffle was won by Pat Abel.The competition of a miniature cup and saucer was won by Jean Clark. The next meeting on Thursday will be a visit to the Youth club. Tea coffee and biscuits were served by the evening’s hostesses.

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING - Edenham Parish Council Met on May 14. The vice-chairman welcomed a member of the parish who raised the matter of the high number of motorcycles using the A151 road throughout the parish.
